Abstract: Learn how heat will cause your laptop's critical and expensive parts to over heat and stop working. Find out how a few simple preventative measures will keep your laptop working even through the hot weather.

With the heat in the 90's and if you are like some, your home is not the coolest it should be. A Computer thrives in 60 degrees. Once room temperature heats up to 75 degrees, we should start looking at how our systems are doing. If we have a laptop on our lap and the urge to grab a pillow for our legs come to mind, that is a major red flag to shut the laptop off.

Laptops do not have the air flow that a tower does. Inside, there is one fan. One little fan. I sucks in air, filters the lent, pet hair, smoke, dust and spits out the heat. By constricting air flow, the laptop heats up and then silently turns off. You than freak and it's off to find the phone book you go.

So, prevention is King. Air flow is critical. Laptops should be completely opened up and cleaned out at least before the Summer season comes along. A good investment is a laptop cooler. That way your system stays nice and cool and you gain some new usb ports. Even if you invest in a laptop cooler, the air filtering will always be an issue. So, depending on your lifestyle, you will need to make a decision if once or twice a year cleaning is suitable for you.

Cleaning costs? We always charge $95 + parts. We do not charge hourly rates, unless we come out to your location. We generally have coupons available for you. Laptop Coolers run about $18 at our store. No appointments necessary and walk-in's are always welcome.
